Reflect

It seemed

everything would look so beautiful from here.

Now we look back in regret.

If only we had known

that the curtain hiding the stage

would come crashing down so soon.

It seemed

things could only get better from here.

And they warned us

not to become too dependent

on such new inventions.

They advised us to go outside more-

pick up a book instead of a video game controller-

or simply take a walk downtown in our downtime.

As if staying away can destroy the dependency we've created.

We take time to stop and think,

reflect

on all that we've done.
